I am an enthusiastic learner who is always seeking ways to help others improve. I have been in the education field for about 3 years now, which has allowed me to find a passion in teaching others and boosting their confidence academically. With the experience I have had, I have implemented organization and creativity to help students become more detail oriented with their work. I am a caring and dedicated individual that will go the extra mile when needed. I have a Bachelors in Biology and Interdisciplinary Studies. I have experience with K-12 subjects, such as Elementary Math, Elementary Science, Reading, Biology, Health Sciences, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, English, and History. Along with this, I have taught 5th grade in the classroom setting. In the future, I would like to be a medical physician, but for now I want to pursue a career that will allow me to help others succeed academically. Tutoring allows me to impact one student at a time.

My daughter is 4; I have hired Sam when my daughter was much younger and we lived in the area.. we moved back into town sometime ago and I realized a few things.. 1- I am not meant to be a stay at home mom ( God bless everyone that is) 2- i regressed my child's learning :( (not my best mom moment) I realized that my daughter was more interested in items from when she was 2 in comparison to the 5 year old toys she was playing with.. I hired Sam (again) as she came HIGHLY recommended from a family friend.. while Sam was caring for my daughter (so I could focus on work) she implemented learning activities that kept my daughter engaged and active. It was amazing to watch them interact but to also see my daughter being challenged again. Since Sam has been involved my daughter has been able to skip 2 levels!! And has even started to read!! I will continue to utilize Sam's services as she delivers RESULTS!!!

FAQs for finding a tutor

How much does it cost to hire a tutor? in 2021
If you're looking to hire a tutor for your kids or yourself, the cost will depend largely on what tutoring subject you choose. As a reference, the national average rate for tutors on Care.com is $17.50 per hour as of June 2021.
How can I find a good tutor near me?
To start your search on Care.com, review profiles for the different tutors in your area and contact those that fit what you are looking for. You will find a description for each tutor sharing details about the subjects they teach, their experience teaching different grades, tutoring kids of different ages, and the services they provide. You can also post a job describing what you need and have the tutors to contact you through the site.
What subjects can the tutors teach?

The most popular subjects include math, English, reading, foreign languages, chemistry, and music lessons. We suggest sorting through each tutor's profile to learn about their previous experience with students and the specific subjects that they teach to find the one that fits your individual needs.
How can I prepare for my first session with a tutor?
Before your first session with a new tutor, sit down and do a little preparation so you or your child can get the most out of your tutoring experience. Whether you're studying for a specific test or trying to bump up that math grade, it's important to not only communicate your learning goals and expectations to the tutor, but also to bring up the specific areas you or your child need help with.
