Hello! I am a warm, pleasant, caring, responsible, positive, hardworking, and energetic person who enjoys working with children. My hobbies include reading, jogging, and swimming! I worked with children for about 27 years as a teacher. We need to give tender loving care for children to bloom. We need to watch them at all times for safety reasons. I give positive feedback when children ask questions. I know plenty of children's songs and provide interesting activities for them. I am seeking a date night nanny position during the night and weekends. I am also a member of a Rescue Team from a fire department. Thank you so much for your attention!

We hired Vivien to watch our infant during bedtime while we had date night while visiting SF. Vivien arrived at our hotel ahead of schedule and was very warm, kind and caring. We spent about 20 minutes before leaving to put the baby down and make sure the baby and Vivien were acquainted before leaving. We felt very comfortable leaving our baby with Vivien for the night, she made us feel right at ease. Vivien showed a lot of concern for our baby and we really appreciated that. She did everything we had asked and more! We would absolutely recommend her and plan on doing so for any friends or family visiting the city. Thank you so much Vivien for your warm and genuine care!!

Taking care of children is truly a great opportunity and has always been a huge and special part of my life. My joy for working with little ones started when I was about 8 years old when my grandmother retired and started her own daycare to take care of kids in the community for free. She taught me that caring for and loving little ones is the greatest gift there is and she did so until she passed. I decided to take the many gems she gave me and put into a life long career healing and providing care as a pediatric oncology nurse. While I'm in school I loving babysitting as much as possible and by doing so reminds me of the love I have for children and brings me so much joy. I enjoy taking kids outdoors to learn and explore the world around them, including teaching them several fun STEM learning activities. Your child's time with me will be fun, exciting, creative and they'll love the time we've spent together.

Symone respond to my request for a sitter the same day. My husband and I had not been out together in quite sometime and just needed a moment. It was my first time hiring a child caretaker in my home and Symone made my family feel completely comfortable. She shared her vaccination status with out asking. She wanted us to know and feel like our most precious gift (our children) were in good hands! She sent us updates via text while we were away. She was very professional!

If I can say at the end of my career that I reflected back a little of the magic that children have shared with me, I will count myself successful. After pursuing a Human Development degree in college, I have spent the last 20+ years working as a nanny and in lead positions as early childhood and art teacher at NAEYC accredited schools. I have designed learning experiences for children of all ages. I have facilitated family involvement in the classroom, held conferences, and maintained NAYEC portfolios and practices. I've held art classes for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children. I've also worked as a teacher trainer and designed art, science, and movement studios for childcare centers. These days I homeschool my magical little ones (ages 9 months and five years). I'm hoping to find a position where my little ones could be fellow explorers and playmates for the children in my care! I'm also fully vaccinated and hoping to find a family that takes Covid precautions.

Sarah is a truly amazing person. She provided care for my 3 children in our home. My family was truly grateful to her for the knowledge and professionalism she brought to the position of Nanny! Sarah was a teacher to my children. They learned everything from social and emotional skills to math and reading. Sarah fostered an environment that was educational in small moments. From allowing my children to practice their cooking skills to reading aloud adventurous stories together, Sarah truly cares about her role as caregiver and teacher. We like to refer to her as Marry Poppins as she usually arrives with new and creative toys for an engaging experience. She is truly an asset for both children and parents, as she is also an excellent guide when navigating through those new stages of development for your children's growing minds. I wouldn't refer to Sarah as a babysitter, as she was our children's teacher in every sense of the word!

FAQs for finding nannies

In 2021 how much will it cost to hire a nanny?
The average rate for nannies on Care.com as of October, 2021 is $15.50 per hour. This rate will fluctuate depending on your location, the nanny's level of experience, and the number of children to be cared for. Other factors that may also influence the rate include specialized care, overnight care, or requesting your nanny to take additional responsibilities at home such as light housekeeping or meal prepping.
Are nannies background checked?
Yes, nannies on Care.com are asked to complete an annual background check called a CareCheck. Nannies who complete this background check will have a badge on their profile displaying the date it was run. While CareCheck is a good start, we strongly recommend that you follow some additional steps for hiring a nanny safely, which include interviewing candidates, checking references, and running your own background check. Visit our Safety Center to learn more.
What types of nanny services can I find?
Care.com has a wide variety of nannies with different levels of experience and skills. You can find nannies specialized in infant care or overnight nannies to help with your newborn while you sleep. There are nannies experienced in caring for toddlers or teenagers, Spanish-speaking nannies, live-in nannies, and even nannies who can help watching your kids before or after school.
What to look for in a nanny?
The perfect nanny for you may not be the perfect nanny for another family. Outline your needs and what you think will work best in your home. Do your kids thrive with structure and schedules? Are you more interested in getting your kids outside or being creative? Do you have young children who need hands-on care? Being clear about what you need and what you are looking for will help you find the right nanny for you.
What should I ask a nanny during an interview?
In order to get to know if the candidate is a good fit, focus your interview questions around their experience as a nanny, their child care style and personality, their previous training and skills, payment expectation, as well as any specific requirements to be performed on the job. It is very common to schedule a paid trial where you can be present while they care for your children. This is a great way to find out if the nanny is a good match for your family and if your kids feel comfortable as well.
